US Customs Service. The United States Customs Service is the primary enforcement agency protecting the Nation’s borders. It is the only border agency with an extensive air, land, and marine interdiction force and with an investigative component supported by its own intelligence branch.
National Institute of Justice. NIJ is the research, development, and evaluation agency of the U.S. Department of Justice and is solely dedicated to researching crime control and justice issues. NIJ provides objective, independent, non-partisan, evidence-based knowledge and tools to meet the challenges of crime and justice, particularly at the State and local levels. NIJ's principal authorities are derived from the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968, as amended (see 42 USC * 3721-3723). NIJ's mission is to advance scientific research, development and evaluation to enhance the administration of justice and public safety.
DoD Counterdrug Technology Development Program Office. The CDTDPO is responsible for developing and demonstrating technologies, and specific counterdrug system solutions to enhance the counterdrug capabilities of the Department of Defense and as appropriate, Civilian Drug Law Enforcement Agencies, while remaining consistent with the National Drug Control Strategy.
